COVID-19

Updates on the latest ENT care during the coronavirus pandemic.

Dr Matthew Magarey is committed to the safety of his patients and his staff. He will ensure patients are still able to receive dedicated care during the coronavirus pandemic. Appointments are available, and can be face-to-face in office, or via Telehealth (video conferencing or telephone conversation) in line with recent changes to Medicare. This is to allow patients to maintain social distancing measures, and also to prevent spread of COVID-19 within the office space.

If a physical examination is essential then an in-person appointment will be offered. Safety measures above our already high infection prevention protocols will be maintained during any office visit including:

  • Hand sanitiser for all patients on arrival into the office

  • Dr Magarey will wear a mask, eye protection and gloves throughout the consultation

  • High level sterilisation of any instruments after examination, including the flexible nasendoscope

  • Antiviral cleaning of all office equipment

Elective surgery is slowly being reintroduced under guidance from the Federal and State Governments. Dr Magarey will be happy to arrange investigations and non-operative measures to help many ENT conditions and will discuss appropriate booking timeframes for any surgery that may be needed. Dr Magarey continues to perform urgent surgical procedures including cancer surgery and can discuss with you if your treatment falls into an urgent category.
